Quick Start Guide

What is this tool?

Apex tests how different user agents see your web pages. It compares what Google, Bing, AI crawlers, and real browsers actually receive — catching rendering differences, blocked content, and SEO issues.

Running a User Agent Test

Enter one or more URLs (comma-separated) or upload a CSV file with a URL column.
Pick which user agents to test. Use a Quick Preset to select a common group, or choose individually.
Click Run Test. The tool will visit each URL with each user agent, capture screenshots, HTML, and metadata.
When done, you'll see a link to the results. You can also find all past runs on the Dashboard.

Quick Presets

SEO Essential — Google, Bing, and key desktop/mobile browsers
LLM Agents — GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, and other AI crawlers
All Crawlers — Every search engine and bot
Browsers — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge on desktop and mobile

Screaming Frog Upload

Switch to the Screaming Frog Upload tab to analyze an existing SF crawl. Export your reports as CSV, ZIP them together, and upload. Required exports: Internal (All), Page Titles, Meta Descriptions, H1, H2, Canonicals, Response Codes, Directives.

Understanding Results

Score (0–100) — Higher is better. Measures indexability, metadata consistency, and structured data coverage across user agents.
Comparison Report — Side-by-side screenshots and metadata for each user agent.
SEO Findings — Specific issues found, ranked by severity (critical, high, medium, low).
